Even though spring seems like a far-off time, we are steadily gearing up for the coming season! In exactly one month, we will be in a toasty, 60-degree greenhouse seeding the first of our transplants: leeks, onions, eggplants, and flowers, including foxglove, delphinium, and poppies.
Between cross country skiing adventures and cozy nights spent reading and knitting, we have been putting together the finishing touches on our field plan for the season. While we have been enjoying this important period of rest and recovery, we have also been chomping at the bit to get out into the field and put some plants in the ground! One of the best things about farming is the continuous transition brought on by the seasons, and the anticipation of what is to come.
Speaking of what’s to come, let’s talk CSA! Words cannot describe our gratitude toward our members for committing to our farm. Entrusting us with growing delicious and healthy vegetables for you and your family is a substantial act in support of organic practices, local agriculture, and our community, and we do not take that lightly. This is why we believe so strongly in the Free-Choice model. When you commit to being part of our farm, we commit to providing you with all the vegetables you need for your family.
Our CSA is “market-style”, meaning you will be able to choose your own vegetables each week from our selection, either at the farm, on Mondays between 3 and 6pm (53 Pennellville Road) or at Moderation Brewing Company, on Thursdays between 4 and 7pm (103 Maine Street). Our season will run from approximately mid-June, through the end of October. We accept payments by credit card or by check, mailed to the address on our contact page. In addition, you can choose to pay in full upon joining, or in three installments, due at signing, by June 1st, and by September 1st. More information is available on our website at soundpinefarm.com, but please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have.
We look forward to growing your vegetables and seeing you at pick up!
Cheers,
Alessia and Virginia
